This Friday, August 2 on UFC Fight Pass World Lethwei Championship (WLC) presents the ‘King of Nine Limbs’ live from the Mandalar Thiri Indoor Stadium, Mandalay, Myanmar.
Lethwei is one of the world’s most thrilling martial arts. Known as the ‘art of nine limbs’, fights are contested with the use of punches (bare-knuckle), elbows, kicks, knees, and headbutts. World Lethwei Championship is the largest lethwei promotion in the world and brings together some of the biggest names in lethwei, kickboxing, muay thai, & MMA for their events.
At WLC: King of Nine Limbs Canadian reality TV star and the self-proclaimed ‘King of Lethwei’ Dave Leduc makes his WLC debut and will compete in the main event against UFC veteran Seth Baczynski for the vacant cruiserweight title.
Leduc is a combat sports veteran with experience in MMA and muay thai before he focused his attention to lethwei in 2016. The 27-year-old quickly established himself in the sport winning various titles and has remained undefeated and will now make his World Lethwei Championship debut. Also making his WLC and lethwei debut is UFC veteran Seth Baczynski. ‘The Polish Pistola’ is known to combat sports fans around the world from his action-packed run in the UFC where he scored wins over Matt Brown and Neil Magny and is also a two-time ‘Fight of the Night’ winner. Now he will look to bring his exciting fighting style to lethwei with the aim of defeating Dave Leduc and immediately jumping to the top of the sport at WLC: King of Nine Limbs.
The co-main event will see a collision of two of Europe’s most dangerous strikers as Poland’s Artur Saladiak defends his light middleweight title against Ukrainian muay thai champion Sasha Moisa.
Undefeated in lethwei, Saladiak won the light middleweight title at WLC 5 with a TKO win over Saw Ba Oo. Now the English-based Pole faces a tough challenger coming in the shape of Sasha Moisa, who made an emphatic statement in his lethwei debut by knocking out Myanmar superstar Shwe Yar Man to earn this title opportunity.
