◎5.19 Pro Shooto New Pier Hall Part 1 Additional Match Card
Featherweight Tsubasa Saito vs Taichi Aoi and 2 other cards added!
Fighters representing each region gather at New Pier!
The 5.19 New Pier Hall day/night tournament will feature notable cards such as a Japan-China competition with China’s largest martial arts organization “YFU Wulin Zhongzhong” and the first strawweight queen deciding match between Emi Fujino and Megumi Sugimoto. Part 1 has been added this time. 3 cards announced.
First up is Tsudanuma’s new special attack team leader, Tsubasa Saito (Mixed Martial Arts Tsudanuma Dojo/FIGHT FARM). Saito moved up to featherweight last year and has three fights. The last two matches were fierce battles with Asuka Tsubaki, TOMA, and both players involved in the top front, but they lost. I ended up in a situation where I was on the verge of losing.
On the other hand, his opponent Taichi Aoi, in contrast to Saito, uses punches inherited from his mentor, former Pacific Rim Champion Yusuke Endo, as his main weapon, and is currently riding a wave with two consecutive wins and two KOs. Also, by constantly gaining experience in matches, both the content of his matches and his winning percentage have become stable, which has led to his winning streak. There’s no way that both fighters wouldn’t mesh well with their punch-based styles. But the takedown will be the difference. Will it be Saito who has no choice but to grab the victory? Or will Aoi, who has the momentum, win three consecutive games? I would like to see a fight that will open up a hole in the featherweight division in the second half of the year.
Other cards will feature players from Hokkaido in the east and Okinawa in the west gathering at New Pier Hall.
2022 Lightweight Rookie of the Year, Hokkaido’s Kento Yasumi (ALMA FIGHTGYM BASE) will face Fukuoka’s Koichiro Yamashita (CARPEDIEM Fukuoka). Anumi suffered a loss to Yamashita when he was an amateur, so he will now face off against him as a professional. Will Anumi, who has grown a bit bigger after participating in RIZIN, get revenge? Or will Yamashita get revenge?
In addition, 22-year-old Arashi Okada (Reversal Gym Shinjuku Me,We), who was promoted to professional at the tryout held at the non-audience live broadcast event “Shooto Live!” held in March of this year, will be participating in the 45 from Okinawa. Competing against a young shooting guy (THE BLACKBELT JAPAN). Shooting Gaikotsu was originally active under the ring name Tatsuya Wakayama, but he decided to change his name and continue his active career, saying, “I want to win against opponents who are as old as a parent and child.” This time too, it was a showdown with Okada, who is 23 years older than him, but what kind of result is expected?
These two cards are matchmaking that connects official pro-am matches held in various regions around the country, but please pay attention to what kind of battle they will show as players representing their regions!
All 8 cards for Part 1 number series and Part 2 YFU for the Sino-Japanese competition between Takebayashi and Shooto have been decided. Match order will be announced at a later date. Please look forward to the 5.19 Pro Shooto New Pier Hall tournament day and night special edition!
