Miao Li Tao Plans To Finish Pongsiri Mitsatit Quick

After his remarkable stunning first-round knockout finish against Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke last May, Miao Li Tao returns to action in a three-round bout at ONE: DAWN OF HEROES, set for Friday, 2 August at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines.

Miao goes against up Thailand’s very own power striker Pongsiri “The Smiling Assassin” Mitsatit.

“He is good at kneeing, and he is a very skilled opponent. He is younger [than Dejdamrong], and he has a passion for competition,” says Miao.

“He is a good fighter, especially with his knockout ability, and I am looking forward to the fight on 2 August.”

Mitsatit boasts a 72-17 record in Muay Thai as well as his 10-2 mixed martial arts slate and showed how dangerous he can be with his skills from “the art of eight limbs” in his last match when he finished Robin “The Ilonggo” Catalan in the first round.

Though Miao is known to be an effective striker, he has made a defensive strategy against the Thai’s knee strikes, in order for him to take his opponent to the mat and dominate him there.

“His weakness is his ground game,” the My MMA Academy representative says. “His last two losses have been on the ground, so I want to take him to the ground to end the fight.”

Being dominant inside the ONE Circle and having a complete arsenal of martial art skills is what allows this athlete to overcome veterans such as Dejdamrong. This Friday, he wants to put on a great show to a possible 2.6 billion viewers worldwide.

Needless to say, Miao is gunning for another epic finish in Manila.

“I will show you what I have improved. You will watch a wonderful fight with all of my skills and style,” he concludes

“I almost never have a three-round fight – either I end the fight in the first round or second round. I like a quick finish. I have trained very hard so I can show the audience a wonderful fight.”
