DAZN to Stream K-1 and Quintet Events Live.

With a global reach spanning over 200 countries, sports streaming giant DAZN adds K-1 and Quintet to their colossal range of content.

The big news follows the recent announcement that premier Kickboxing org K-1 would be partnering with sublime grappling promotion QUINTET. Yokohama arena will play host to the inaugural event from the newly formed alliance showcasing both striking and grappling on the same day. On September 10th the striking arts will kick off the days action, with “ReBOOT~K-1 ReBIRTH~” delivering a planned 15-16 matches. Following K-1 will be team Grappling competition as “ReBOOT~QUINTET.4~” takes centre stage. All the action will be broadcast worldwide, streamed live on DAZN.

With an illustrious and storied history, K-1 has long been synonymous with world class striking on the feet. For their 30th anniversary, the legendary org returns to their roots with an 8 man Openweight GP Tournament. Once broadcast on 3 terrestrial channels in addition to 150 countries worldwide, K-1 was a global spectacle. While their heyday may have been decades ago “the world’s highest stage of striking martial arts” has maintained a solid reputation for elite matches, especially in the lighter weight divisions. With the Heavyweight GP and the return of K-1 MAX (Middleweight Artistic eXtreme) the reborn K-1 is aiming at global expansion, with events to be held around the world. Not only can fans around the world can now easily enjoy the stacked, star studded Japanese events, residents of Japan can similarly access overseas broadcasts, all live.

The brainchild of legendary MMA and Grappling superstar Kazushi Sakuraba, Quintet presents an unique tournament befitting of the  Submission master. A modern take on the traditional Kosen Judo rule-set, Quintet sees 4 teams of 5 competitors compete in a submission only elimination tournament. What makes Quintet unique is both their winner stays on and combined weight limit formats. A team can compile members of any weight together as long as they do not surpass the combined maximum allowance. Team members are lined up in the order they will step on the mat, carefully considered to maximum the chances of success. As winners stay on to face the next challenger a single submission can flip the script as the storyline unfolds in front of an awestruck audience. With an eclectic array of submission wizards clashing on the mat, Quintet is not to be missed.
