UFC Fight Night Tokyo Card

As the heat wave blazes on in Tokyo all MMA fans are eagerly waiting for the UFC to make it’s annual return to the land of the rising sun. With a little more than a month to go, UFC Fight Night 117 in Tokyo news is pouring in.

Let’s have a look at the card as it stands right now. There will be more fights added. This is what we know now:

Mauricio Rua vs. Ovince Saint Preux

Jessica Andrade vs. Claudia Gadelha

Henrique da Silva vs. Gokhan Saki

Jussier Formiga vs. Ulka Sasaki

Chan-Mi Jeon vs. Syuri Kondo

Daichi Abe vs. Hyun Gyu Lim

Alex Morono vs. Keita Nakamura

Rolando Dy vs. Teruto Ishihara

Mizuto Hirota vs. Charles Rosa

On this card you have 2 Pancrase champions. You have Staw weight Queen of Pancrase, Syuri Kondo, on the Preliminary card. You also have Daichi Abe, Light Weight King of Pancrase.

Abe, who is 5-0-0 in MMA will take on South Korean fighter Hyn Gyu Lim 13-6-1. Lim is on a two fight loss streak at the moment. Given the trend for the UFC to cut fighters if they lose 3 fights, this could be a life changing fight for Lim.

It could also be a life changing fight for Abe as well. Since getting into the Cage at the Pancrase Promotion, Abe has not tasted defeat. He has faced some world class opponents as well. If you didn’t know Pancrase has sent over 120 fighters into the ranks of the UFC. Pancrase talent scouts are no joke and neither are their events. All this challenge in Abe’s past puts him in prime condition to handle anything the UFC can throw at him.

Of course MMA Japan will be there to bring you all the action. Follow @mmajpn1 on twitter for the live updates.
