ROAD FC ANNOUNCES NEW LIVE BROADCAST DEAL IN THE US WITH DAZN, WORLD’S LARGEST DEDICATED SPORTS STREAMING SERVICE

For release on October 31, 2018 – ROAD Fighting Championship announces a live broadcast partnership in the United States with DAZN to commence with ROAD FC 050 on November 3, 2018 in Daejeon, South Korea.

DAZN, pronounced “Da Zone”, is the world’s largest dedicated live and on-demand sports streaming service. DAZN launched in Europe and Asia two years ago with rights partnerships including the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, EPL and UEFA. In September, DAZN launched its expansion into the United States with parent company Perform Group’s $1 billion joint venture with Matchroom Boxing and a nine-figure multiyear global distribution agreement with Bellator MMA.

ROAD FC will join DAZN in its US broadcast launch and international portfolio expansion as the only Mixed Martial Arts promotion in Asia. US fans will be able to watch ROAD FC events on DAZN’s superior platform, and follow the world-class Korean MMA action as well as the top international fighters participating in ROAD FC events and the ROAD FC $1 Million Tournament. ROAD FC 050 will be live broadcast on DAZN in the US with English commentary starting at 19:00 in Korea, in the US at 6:00 ET and 3:00 PT.

ROAD FC 050

In the main event, ROAD Featherweight Champion Choi Mu-Gyeom will make his fourth title defense against top contender Lee Jeong-Yeong. Champion Choi has decided that this will be his retirement match. Challenger Lee is just 22 years old, and his future looks very bright. Choi versus Lee will be an incredible performance between two talented and well-rounded fighters, showcasing the high level of Korean MMA.

The co-main event will be a battle between MMA legends as “Heavy Tank of Busan” Choi Mu-Bae meets “Ol’ Ironhead” Fujita Kazuyuki. This will be a heroic battle between two 48-year old PRIDE veterans who have dedicated their entire lives to martial arts, and of course it will be a triumph for “uncles” everywhere.

Daejeon native Hong Young-Ki will be carrying a double load of pressure when he faces Nakamura Koji: he’ll be representing his home town, and seeking revenge for his teammate, ROAD Lightweight Champion Kwon A-Sol, whom Nakamura knocked out at ROAD FC 013 in 2013. Hong is a National Taekwondo Champion, and Nakamura is a karateka with over thirty MMA fights, so a stand up battle is anticipated.

A total of twelve fights will be featured on ROAD FC 050 and the preliminary card, Young Guns 40.

New Wave MMA ROAD FC is the stage where legends shine, rookies thrill, and epic battles are waged that determine the future of MMA. From the pageantry of the grand entrance to the final crunch of the KO, ROAD FC showcases the very best of Mixed Martial Arts sports and entertainment. As we say in Korea, “Fighting!”
