Macau – Legend Fighting Championship, China’s largest globally recognized mixed martial arts event, will close out the year in Macau on 28 December with a stellar card set for the MGM Theater.
Ticket information for Legend 14 is available at www.tickets.mgm.mo.
Two rising stars of Chinese MMA will clash in the main event as Yu Jianhong looks for redemption against a surging Chang Juncheng. The two men first met in the semi-final of the 80kg Sanda Tournament at Legend 13, where Yu edged out Chang in a tightly-contested split decision.
Both athletes bring an impressive resume to the Legend 14 main event.
Trained out of the famed Shaolin Temple before bouncing from gym to gym in search of a pro MMA career, Chang’s knockout power was on full display during his promotional debut at Legend 12 in Guangzhou, where he finished his opponent just 30 seconds into the opening round.
Yu, another to make his Legend debut in Guangzhou, is life-long striker and kickboxer who fought his way to the Grand Finals of the 80kg Sanda Tournament in Macau only to be stopped by tournament winner Yang Zhanwang.
Evenly matched on the feet, this bout will finally prove who is the most complete fighter when they meet under full Legend FC MMA rules on 28 December.
The co-main of Legend 14 will see two fast-rising female stars clash as “Supermom” Miao Jie steps into the Legend FC ‘Bafang’ for the first time against striking superstar Liu Jie.
Miao, who lives and trains in Shanghai, brings an unparalleled ground game to Legend as the only Chinese female to earn black belts in both Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Miao has a high submission finishing rate and will be coming to Legend 14 confident of a win.
Liu, however, should prove to be a difficult opponent, given her strong background in the striking arts. The 19-year-old trains out of Giant Bull in Beijing alongside her brother and Legend FC veteran Liu Lian Jie.
“It’s been a landmark year for Legend FC and finishing up the year in Macau is significant for us in many ways,” said Matthew Kwok, Legend Fighting Championship Chairman.
“Chinese MMA continues to grow and we are proud to be in a unique position to showcase some of the fastest-rising stars of what is now a booming sport right across Mainland China.”
The final touches are now being made to the full Legend 14 card and will be announced shortly.
