Malaysia’s Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan looks to expand on her professional record of 5-1 this Friday, 6 December when she heads back to Kuala Lumpur to face ONE Championship newcomer Denice “The Menace Fairtex” Zamboanga of the Philippines.
The two square off on the main card of ONE: MARK OF GREATNESS, which broadcasts live from the Axiata Arena.
With the bout just a short ways away, Radzuan sees this bout ending emphatically in her favor.
“My prediction is that I will finish this by the second round,” Radzuan said. “Either through knockout or submission.”
Malaysian martial arts pioneer and veteran Melvin Yeoh, who guides Radzuan’s career at the Ultimate MMA Academy in Johor Bahru, also shares the same confidence in his pupil. In Radzuan, Yeoh realizes limitless potential.
“Jihin is a stubborn student,” Yeoh said.
“But a fighter needs a stubborn spirit to never give up. I see the burning desire and never-give-up spirit in her. She was born naturally strong, and she is a very fast learner. We have been working a lot on boxing, clinching and wrestling.”
Radzuan is both a Wushu World Champion and MIMMA Women’s Champion. She is without a doubt one of the best female martial arts talents to have come out of Malaysia.
Representing her country on the global stage of competition, Radzuan is proud to bear the Malaysian flag each time she heads for the battlefield.
This Friday evening, in front of her Malaysian countrymen, Radzuan looks to not only claim victory, but to give honor to her nation.
“Representing your country, it means everything to me,” Radzuan said. “Not everyone has that opportunity to hold the flag.”
Also at ONE: MARK OF GREATNESS are a pair of World Title bouts. In the main event, Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao goes for gold against China’s Wang Junguang for the inaugural ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Championship, while Alaverdi Ramazanov battles China’s Zhang Chenglong for the inaugural ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Championship.
