Pancrase 316 on July 5th

Studio Coast will once again play host to Pancrase 316 for their stacked July 5th mega card. Showcasing a bevy of their top talent combined with fantastic matchmaking and Neo Blood tournament matches, Pancrase 316 is a must-watch for fight fans around the world.

In the main event, Featherweight King of Pancrase Isao Kobayashi locks horns with Akira Okada over 3 rounds. Akira drops down from Lightweight following a 3 fight slide shifting his record to 13-8-3. Known for his intimidating physicality and explosive KO power Akira is sure to be dynamite at 145lbs. Isao Kobayashi carries an impressive 25-5-4 record and has been on a tear as of late, riding a 4-fight win streak. While well rounded with power and a great chin, Isao really shines when using his Judo base to pressure and control the pace of the fight.

In the co-main, former Lightweight champion and current #1 ranked contender Hiroto Uesako squares off against #7 ranked Yusuke Kasuya in a classic grappler vs striker showdown. Kasuya (10-6-2) is relentless with his grappling game and adept at maintaining positions and securing submissions. In contrast, Uesako (16-9) brings a versatile and brutal striking style and, coming off 2 consecutive KO losses is sure to be fired up and hungry for a finish.

Two experienced top-ranked ladies clash in an evenly matched Women’s Flyweight bout. Emika “Fujin” Raika, ranked #2, transitioned from a decorated pro boxing champion to become a force in MMA. Racking up a 10-6-1NC record over just 5 years, the ever-evolving “Fujin” tests herself against the division’s #3, Takayo Hashi. A crafty veteran, Hashi owns a 16-8-1 record in a career spanning 15 years and is very accomplished on the mat.

Wrestler Issei Tamura has been showing his firepower on the feet lately, scoring a blistering highlight reel KO in his last outing. With Tamura holding a 13-10 record, a spectacular win against Shinmare “Mayo” Komori would certainly keep title contention hopes alive. Komori may lack the big stage experience but has an impressive 9-3 resume and serious firepower of his own.
