Stamp Fairtex Wants to Rekindle ‘Old’ Fire, Looks to Finish Alyona Rassohyna at ONE: UNBREAKABLE III

Former ONE Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion Stamp Fairtex may have relinquished her two belts in a pair of tough losses last year, but the 23-year-old Thai athlete says she’s looking to rekindle the fire that made her into a superstar, beginning with her next bout.

Stamp is set to face Ukrainian grappling specialist Alyona Rassohyna in the main event of ONE: UNBREAKABLE III, a previously recorded event from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore scheduled for global broadcast this Friday, 5 February.

Stamp feels the pressure is on for her to win, and that she’s more than willing to rise to the occasion.

“The setbacks were hard for me. I lost my motivation to succeed. But it was such a great lesson for me. I’m a much better fighter now, mentally. I feel motivated to get back in the Circle and put on a good show for the fans. I’ve been working very hard on my game, and I want to showcase my skills,” said Stamp.

“I will put together a better performance this time around. There’s a lot of pressure on me to win, based on my last few fights, but I will face these challenges.”

Against Rassohyna, Stamp faces an experienced veteran and former WWFC Atomweight Champion. Rassohyna is a grappling standout, with 10 out of her 12 wins coming by submission.

The specific threats the Ukrainian poses for Stamp on the ground are real, although the Thai fighter remains confident in her ground skills. She trains in all forms of combat in her camp at Fairtex in Pattaya. With Stamp being the former kickboxing and Muay Thai titleholder, however, the stage is set for a classic striker versus grappler matchup.

Stamp knows she has to channel the fighting form that made her an absolute monster for anyone willing to step in the ring with her.

“My opponent is a judo champion, so she should be good with her ground game. She has good takedowns. But I think her weakness is in striking. I am confident I am the better striker,” said Stamp.

“I’ll bring back the ‘old’ Stamp that fans used to know. I’ll bring that fire back and win this fight. I’ll try to finish her as soon as possible.”
