◎4.7 Pro Shooto Shinjuku FACE Tournament Information
“TO THE TOP!!”
Watch the fight of these men as they rise from here!
We’ll heat up Kabukicho with a lineup that includes tryouts and Kids Shooto!

As the cherry blossom front moves north, new cards have been added that will heat up Shinjuku FACE, Kabukicho, right in the heart of Shinjuku.
A catchweight match has been scheduled between Fukushima native Takahiro Ichijo (Striker Minami Soma) and Shota Tanii (Rodeo Style/Daido Juku), who is also active in “Kura-do”.
Ichijo won his first fight in two and a half years at “THE SHOOTO OKINAWA vol.9” held in November last year, and appeared in the main event of the first official professional Shooto event, “Shooto LIVE! TOKYO,” held in March. He challenged Yoshizumi Kobayashi (Reversal Gym Tokyo Standout), who had previously ended in a draw, in his first showdown in three years, but lost by unanimous decision. Perhaps because he was so frustrated, he sent out love calls to various promoters asking to take part in the event right after the event, and this time he is taking part just under a month later.
On the other hand, Tanii was on standby as a backup fighter at the recent Korakuen Hall tournament, so Ichijo’s desire to participate came at a perfect time. He placed third in the 6th Hokutoki World Karate Championships held in 2023, and his left thrust, which he unleashes without any motion, has the destructive power to knock him unconscious in one hit if it hits. Ichijo wants to create a grappling situation, while Tanii focuses on the sharp strikes he has learned from Karate. Each has their own specialty, but whether they can compete well on their opponent’s soil is a condition for them to break into the top ranks, and will be the deciding factor for their victory.
This was a catchweight match-up, but it turned out to be an excellent combination, despite being in Class B in the bantamweight class, which is said to be the most competitive area in Shooto.
In addition, there are 10 pro-am matches, including a tryout between top amateurs aiming to become professionals, Kanta Higuchi (FIGHT FARM) and Hiroyuki Yano (Shooto GYM Tokyo). Kids Shooto will also be added to the lineup for the 4.7 Pro Shooto Shinjuku FACE Tournament.
Look forward to the Professional Shooto Shinjuku FACE Tournament that will heat up the nights of Kabukicho, the “city that never sleeps”!
