UFC kicks off 2020 with Conor McGregor vs Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone

As you are aware, UFC is kicking off 2020 this Sunday morning with a phenomenal card live from Las Vegas. Former two division champion Conor McGregor will make his return to the Octagon against multiple record-holder Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in the five-round main event of UFC 246.

A press conference was held today, and here are a few quotes from both athletes.

Conor McGregor:

“(At 170 pounds) I feel light, fast and accurate here. I’m going to be going for the knock out.”

“I’m more focused during this fight, but I’m still the same kid who’s reaching for the stars.”

“I can read Donald like a children’s book. We are well prepared. I made this game what it is. I’m going to go in there and remind everyone.”

“We’re focusing on the skills here. It will be an exciting one for the fans. I’m going to put on a phenomenal show for you on Saturday.”

Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone:

“He’s great and I’m honored to share the cage with him. This is the toughest battle to date that I’ve stepped in. He’s a double division champ, so you can say this is my biggest fight.”

“He (says he) can read me, so we’ll see. Hopefully he brought his ‘hooked on phonics’ (book). We’ll see at 170 if I’m still ‘a stick in the mud’.”

“I’m going five rounds with this dude and I cannot wait until Saturday night.”

Additionally, a new bout for UFC Fight Night: Lee vs Oliveira on March 14 in Brasilia, Brazil has been made official. Bruno Silva (11-4-1, Brazil) will have his chance to rebound on his home turf when he faces China’s up and coming Sumudaerji (11-4). Silva will return to flyweight and vows to claim the title his long time friend Henry Cejudo once held. He’ll face a scrappy opponent first, as Sumudaerji delivered an evolved and blistering performance at UFC Shenzhen.
